Award-winning Amino Freedom shortlisted for more industry prizes

4 Aug 2010

Amino Communications' award-winning Amino Freedom hybrid-OTT media centre could be in line for further plaudits after it was shortlisted for two industry prizes.

Earlier this year, the Intel™-powered device scooped "Best Consumer Device" at the prestigious IPTV World Forum and is now in the running for the Cable and Satellite International (CSI) and Streaming Media awards.

The Amino Freedom is shortlisted for the ""Best Customer Premise Technology" section at the CSI awards which take place at IBC in September. The following month the device will be featured in the "TV Over IP Solution" section at the Streaming Media Europe show.

Amino CEO Andrew Burke said: "Amino has a long tradition of award-winning products and we're delighted that within a few months of its launch key industry media are acknowledging the Amino Freedom's leading-edge capability and impact. These plaudits are an important signal to our own people that their hard work and innovative spirit is gaining widespread recognition by their peers and we very much look forward to the awards."

Powered by the Intel™ Atom™ Media Processor CE4100, the Amino Freedom is designed to meet growing consumer demand for TV-based entertainment from any source, including broadcast, the Internet, social networking and local content, in a single device. A solution based on the Amino Freedom has been provided to a major western European tier one operator to support the rollout of its broadband TV service.
