Re-shaping hospitality TV services for the “Connected Consumer” with OTT multiscreen service – a new white paper from Amino and PerceptionTV

(London/Cambridge, UK: 6 March 2015) Hotels and resorts must reshape their hospitality TV services to the changing needs of an increasingly increasingly “connected consumer”, according to a new white paper from Amino and PerceptionTV published today.

Entitled: “Multiscreen campus-wide: Future opportunities for digital entertainment services in the hospitality sector”, the white paper highlights how hospitality TV service provision is facing major challenges as hotel guests seek a more personalised “anytime, anywhere” content experience.

In particular, the needs of “digitally-savvy” guests who own multiple connected devices - and expect “always on” entertainment – must be addressed as part of the overall resort customer experience, the white paper says.

Amino and PerceptionTV Ltd explain how they’re re-inventing the hospitality entertainment experience – with a complete cloud-based OTT multiscreen platform to deliver a campus-wide, multiscreen TV experience.

The white paper highlights how service operators can:

- re-invent the resort pay-TV experience with a new OTT multiscreen solution

- generate new and improved revenue streams from bundled TV subscription packs and pay per view movies

- extend profitable service reach beyond the hotel room to a resort-wide multiscreen “anytime, anywhere” TV entertainment experience

- meet the needs of the new “digital elite” – customers with multiple connected devices who travel more, expect more and spend more

- maintain full system control – while delivering live, catch-up or on demand content across any screen at any time – and increase the propensity to buy premium content

- dramatically improve the overall customer service proposition by delivering high quality video entertainment everywhere

Amino CEO Donald McGarva says: “In the same way as consumers expect multiscreen service delivery at home, increasingly they want to duplicate the same personalised experience when travelling. This new white paper highlights Amino’s and PerceptionTV’s perspective on how resorts and hotels can respond to this challenge – and build profitable new services and revenue streams through new kinds of OTT multiscreen delivery.”

John Mills, CEO, PerceptionTV Ltd adds: “The way people consume TV and movies is changing. Whether it’s viewing on a smartphone or at home on the TV, people want it anytime anywhere and the hospitality industry needs to adapt its own on resort entertainment services to accommodate these dynamic viewing habits. By adopting our agile, flexible and cost-effective OTT/IPTV multiscreen, the industry is presented with new opportunities to enhance its services, both locally and internationally, and meet the demands of the new ‘Millennial’ generation of TV watchers.”
