Amino ports Espial's IPTV Middleware to its HD set-top box range

11 September 2009

Cambridge, UK and Ottawa, Canada. - September 11, 2009 - Amino Communications, the world leading independent IPTV specialist, announce today that they have ported Espial's IPTV Middleware, the Evo TV Service Platform, to its HD range of set-top boxes (STBs) including the recent new models, hybrid compatible A532 and A132.

This means that Amino have once again increased their ecosystem presence with another industry leading pre-integrated solution.

Espial's Evo TV Service Platform features Evo Client? an intelligent, small footprint, set-top box (STB) middleware that delivers a sub-second user experience for a range of TV applications.   Service providers can use its authoring environment to rapidly build and customise user interfaces that deliver exciting, interactive applications and compelling content to consumers.  It also provides an application development environment including tools, methodologies, and open APIs to allow operators to build additional applications. Further, it includes a toolkit that allows user interfaces and applications to be seamlessly ported for a consistent user experience across STBs.

"We are delighted that Evo Client has been ported to Amino's elegant HD range of STBs. The easiness of the port means telcos and their customers will have confidence to switch to new STBs and have a reliable service that performs to the highest standard", said Jaison Dolvane, President and CEO, Espial. "We look forward to working together to provide this high performance solution to customers around the world."

Amino CEO Andrew Burke said: "Having pre-integrated middleware is a must in this industry. It increases the functionality of our STBs and further enhances our partner relationships. We are happy to continue our strong working relationship with Espial."
