Videotree, Anevia and Amino announce Technology Partnership to Introduce IP-Enabled Bathroom Televisions for Luxury Hotels.22 June 2009
Videotree, a UK-based manufacturer of LCD Bathroom Televisions, has been providing visual entertainment into wet-room environments for 10 years. Together with Anevia, a video service infrastructure provider and Amino Communications, a leading IPTV entertainment solutions and set-top box supplier, Videotree announces a unique, new IPTV solution that enables hotels to offer advanced broadcast services to guests in the luxury of their bathroom. Under the partnership, the three companies have integrated a set-top box (STB) and technologies for access to a full range of broadcast and video-on-demand services into an IP-enabled bathroom television called Videospa IP.
Integration of the Amino IP STB and Anevia IP network access technologies into Videotree's television unit significantly simplifies installation for system integrators and offers middleware providers a complete end to end solution. The screens are delivered as fully integrated, sealed units. They require no silicone sealing of secondary glass, no separate power source nor additional IR Extension meaning they can be installed in the bathroom in minutes.
The Videospa IP-Enabled Bathroom Television links directly to the hotel's broadband network to stream broadcast services from satellite and digital TV plus video-on-demand into guests' bathrooms according to pre-defined channel listings. Other features include digital signage services for display of guest bills, room service options and messages.
When not in use, LED Strip lighting on either side of the screen illuminates the viewing area and creates a mirror - a unique feature unavailable on conventional bathroom televisions. When the TV is turned on, the lights simply fade away and become volume level indicators.
"As bathroom televisions become the must have for the 5* hospitality markets, the shift from analogue to digital TV creates problems at the point of installation. Our partnership with Anevia and Amino allows Videotree to offer an advanced television unit that overcomes these hurdles and can be installed in minutes. Anevia and Amino are recognized leaders in IPTV solutions and their presence on the hospitality market gives strength to our offering," says Chris Bruce, Head of Sales at Videotree.
"The unique and innovative design of VideoSpa IP allows luxury hotels to differentiate their services and provide increased comfort to guests who no longer need to pause in their viewing or listening when they are in the bathroom. Full access is available to broadcast satellite and digital TV channels as well as video on demand, music and other multimedia services. Anevia is proud to be part of such an innovative project," adds Patrick Rabu, VP Sales at Anevia.
"The combined expertise of Videotree, Anevia and Amino has created a high-performance solution that is unique to the market. Hotels benefit from access to a full range of video delivery standards allowing them to extend their viewing services to guests and improve the comfort of their rooms. Amino has extensive experience in providing STBs for the hospitality market and is pleased to be part of this innovative solution," adds David Groves, Product Marketing Manager at Amino Communications.
