Amino's "iPod of Set Tops" Wins Prestigious Global "Good Design" Award

Only UK company to win in electronics product design category

Cambridge UK, December 30 2008: Amino Communications, the world leading IPTV platform supplier has won a prestigious "Good Design" award for 2008 from the world-renowned Chicago Athenaeum Museum for its sleek and stylish AmiNET130M Set-Top Box (STB). It is the only UK company to receive the accolade in the electronics product design section.

The Good Design award is the world's oldest and most important programme for recognising excellence in product and industrial design. Founded in 1950 by leading US designers, the awards receive entries from almost 50 countries with winning products showcased at the Good Design Show in Chicago in June 2009. Other winners this year included Apple, Medion, Microsoft, Bosch and Siemens.

Amino CEO Andrew Burke said: "This is a wonderful accolade - and the latest in a string of awards for the AmiNET130M. Our products are a powerful combination of functionality and form. We understand that people want stylish, contemporary electronics in their homes - and we pay a great deal of attention to ensure our products deliver to that need".

"The AmiNET130M allows providers to future-proof their services and can deliver a full range of HD services including gaming, Video-on-Demand and broadcast - with the innovative option to plug in a similarly discrete digital video recorder (DVR) device."

The AmiNET130M stands just 1.37 inches high and 4.48 inches wide (11.4cm x 3.5cm) and is the smallest High Definition (HD) STB on the market. With a sleek and distinctive black extrusion, the one piece aluminium design is simple to manufacture and allows the STB to quickly dissipate heat.

Recently named "the iPod of set tops" by leading industry analysts Light Reading, the AmiNET130M is the latest award winner in a lengthy list of design awards for Amino's product functionality and design. At the industry TelcoTV show in the US in November, the same product won "Best in Show" and "Best Customer Premise Equipment" awards.
