Amino and SecureMedia Team Up to Supply Eona with DRM-Enabled Set-Top Box for the Hospitality Market

SecureMedia's Encryptonite System(TM) now integrated with AmiNET103 and AmiNET110 STB to be used in Eona's Digital Entertainment Solution

IBC2004, Amsterdam - September 10, 2004 - Amino Communications, a leading supplier of IP set-top boxes and digital broadcast products, and SecureMedia, Inc., a leading provider of encryption technology and digital rights management (DRM) systems, announced today the integration of SecureMedia's Encryptonite System DRM client on the AmiNET digital set-top box product line. Eona, of Annecy, France, will use Encryptonite-enabled AmiNET103 and AmiNET110 set-top boxes to provide secure IP-based television services through its Digital Entertainment Solution (D.E.S) for the hospitality market.

Amino's AmiNET103 and AmiNET110 are digital set-top boxes for broadband TV applications in hospitality and telco markets. The AmiNET range of digital set-top box products offers system integrators and service providers high functionality, low cost, and easy integration, in an elegant and attractive design.

SecureMedia's Encryptonite System is an open platform DRM software solution optimized for the secure distribution of VOD, broadcast TV and other multimedia content over IP networks. Encryptonite provides content owners and distributors the highest levels of digital content security while offering device manufacturers and service providers low cost implementation and operation.

"The combination of SecureMedia's Encryptonite System and the AmiNET set-top box enables high security and high quality video distribution through our D.E.S platform," said Christian Tricot, CEO of Eona. "As a result, our hospitality customers are able to offer their guests the finest in blockbuster entertainment thereby increasing guest satisfaction while generating profitable new revenue streams for their properties."

"We are very pleased to have our Encryptonite DRM client integrated on the AmiNET platform as we believe the Amino products offer among the best price-performance ratio of any IP set-top boxes on the market," said Fred Ellis, CEO of SecureMedia.

"The lightweight and efficient Encryptonite client software fits perfectly with the AmiNET products offering IP video system providers like Eona the critical low cost receiving device they need," stated Mike Greenall, VP Marketing, Amino Communications.
