Amino selected for first ever Croatian IPTV deployment

AmiNET STBs delivering IPTV in new region

Cambridge, UK, 7 August 2006 - Amino, leading IPTV set-top box (STB) supplier, today announced that it has been selected by Vodatel for Croatia's first ever IPTV deployment. A substantial volume of STBs has been ordered so far, with further orders expected as the service area grows. The service will provide subscribers with full triple-play (telephone, broadband internet and television) and is the first time that a multiple advanced service has been available within the country.

Vodatel will provide its triple-play service via fibre to the home (FTTH), a broadband telecommunications system, based on fibre-optic cables and associated optical electronics. Ericsson Nikola Tesla, Zagreb, the system integrator for this project will install and maintain this network.

"Consumers in Croatia will be experiencing a broadcasting format which is completely new to them thanks to our service" said Sebastian Popovic, CEO of Vodatel "It is imperative that their first encounter with IPTV is faultless. Therefore, we needed a highly dependable and proven STB - that was where Amino came in". All of Amino's STBs are pre-tested with the main value chain component suppliers, including all leading browser, conditional access and middleware providers, making for fast time to market and a reliable product.

"This deployment is an important step for Amino as it brings IPTV to a previously untapped market and demonstrates Amino's dedication to driving the geographic spread of the technology to new areas across the globe." Said Roy Kirsopp, VP & General Manager of Amino Communications. "Croatian consumers will soon be able to take full advantage of innovative IPTV offerings."
